My name is Ashleigh Bianchi and I am the host of "Roots & Roadhouses". I graduated from Florida Tech with a bachelor's in Multi-Platform Journalism and have dreamed of being a part of a radio station. I enjoy listening to folk and alt-country, singer-songwriters, indie rock and Korean pop.
Each week, we open the doors to a genre-crossing soundscape—from the heartache and grit of folk and alt-country, to the intimate storytelling of singer-songwriters, the bold energy of indie rock, and the polished passion of Korean pop. Pooja is a 25 year old Libra Moon and against all odds you can find her flailing elegantly in Fort Worth, TX. Sonic SOUP is intended to be an exorcism for your algorithm in the best way possible. Don’t expect the same thing twice. Or do. I like the tunes I like and supporting the masterminds behind them.
The show consists of fresh, vibrational finds sourced sonically from as far as the bottom of the ocean to out there in some, subliminal ether. Down with watering down your craft to be marketable or be picked up by a hyper-curated algorithm on a major streaming platform increasingly being driven by AI.
The requirement to be on Sonic SOUP is to make me feel something, not to sell. I love anything from experimental noise rock to DnB to New Wave to Ethi-jazz.
Expect the show to be vibrationally reflective of that. Tune in if you want to melt. Tune in if you want to feel. Keep tuning in if you want to catch a case of the melty-feels. The “melty-feels” exist beyond one genre, and I’m here to stretch your brain from a comfortable distance, the same way a good soup warms and stretches your gut.
Sonic SOUP is my take on what pop could have been if it were less palatable and more representative of the people in mainstream culture who consume & inevitably end up funding it. In spite of and irregardless of all that, come catch a case of the melty-feels with me over some cyber-sonic SOUP :) xx
